Happy Birthday Jerry

Jerry Garcia would have been 70 today. 

When he died in 1995, my ex-wife accurately stated that my friends and I went into a period of mourning.  The Dead had been part of our lives for over 15 years at that time.  We attended over 100 concerts each throughout the country.  We listened to our first bootlegs like Englishtown 77.  The Dead had been such a meaningful part of our lives, and Jerry was our leader.

17 years later and many Other Ones, Phil Lesh and Friends,Ratdog, and Further shows our love for the music of Jerry Garcia and his colleagues still makes us want to dance...at least in the Grateful Dead trippy sort of way.

Barring a torrential rain we will be attending a Jerry Garcia birthday bash at the Beekman Beer Garden at the South Street Seaport.  Bill Kreutzman with the 7 Walkers will headline.
